In February 2009 Clinton Lank, Executive Director of Groundwork Providence passed away following a difficult illness.

The board and staff of Groundwork Providence are eternally grateful to Clint for his years of service and his unswerving commitment to build a better environment for all Rhode Islanders.

Groundwork Providence began as Keep Providence Beautiful in 1983. In 2000 the organization joined the Groundwork network of environmental trusts in order to access national resources and expertise in support of local sustainablity projects.

Groundwork works to develop healthy, sustainable and green communities for all Providence residents. We believe that the fight for social and economic justice is intimately connected to the well-being of our shared urban environment. Groundwork's programs are designed to help low-income and underserved populations develop their role as stewards of their own environment and their futures.
